Lanna Mon 28 March
Another extremely tight match as is befitting a final. Nigel and Gary B went hole for hole in the first nine. The back nine saw Nigel creep gradually ahead so that at the 16th it was dormie 2. Nigel won the 17th and Gary B taking the 18th leaving Nigel to take the honours 2 up and become our current reigning knockout champion.

Alpine 24 March
In the other semi-final round Gary Burke, who has had a dream run with two byes, played his first match against Christian Friis. I am told by Christian that the course, although beautiful, was long and quite a challenge. Gary B obviously found the running a bit better, even though it was his first time out on the course, as he won 4/3. That means the final will be played out between Nigel Jones and Gary Burke and I would guess that it will be played at Lanna next Monday. Good Luck.

Lanna Mon 21 March
There is no doubt that a semi-final knockout match between Garry Walker and Nigel Jones at Lanna today was one of the closest fought final rounds so far in this tournament. The lead changed hole to hole. All square after nine holes, all square after 18 holes. The match was a draw. A rematch was discussed however, with the other semi final match is yet to be played and with Garry departing for Australia this Sunday and therefore unable to participate in a final anyway he has agreed to forfeit the rematch and Nigel goes through to the final.

Sunday 6 Mar
Unfortunately Hiro is in hospital with pneumonia and is unable to compete in his match giving a forfeit/bye to Gary Burke. Also Dave Robinson unable to compete in his match giving a forfeit/bye to Garry Walker. This completes the second round of matches and a draw for the third round will be carried out at Lanna on monday.

Mae Jo 1 Mar
Haydn Patterson & Christian Friis played out their friendly match today helped along with some friendly stirring by Gordon & Jimmy and some grumbling about temporary greens by 'H' on a relatively quiet course. Despite a somewhat ordinary start Haydn managed to fight through to be dormy on the 14th before going down on the next hole leaving Christian with a smile on his face as the winner on the day. Well done.
